My research question is :

What are some obstacles that former offenders are faced with upon reintegration into society.?”

My hypothesis is that the system that is designed to reform, is unsuccessful due to the obstacles many offenders face after enduring the carceral system.

My independent variable: them being in jail, and my dependent variable: is the obstacles they face when released
