This week I read the Clinical Microsystems Greenbook workbooks on inpatient care and improving patient access to healthcare. Accessibility to preventative measures has always been a challenge in healthcare as many conditions are first diagnosed, then treated. The workbook on improving patient access to healthcare discussed how access to care is a commonly listed factor for patient dissatisfaction from a hospitalization. The action plan for this project was thoroughly outlined with discussions on the specifics of the population, demand, as well as redesigning the existing hospital system. Efficiency and health care costs was another important consideration as many hospitals are privately funded, which means management will want to see deliverables met to continue providing the funds needed for the change or intervention (Braddock et al., 2015)
My project topic is on reducing substance use disorders in adolescents through preventative interventions. Reading about this microsystem and their approach will greatly develop my own change project but demonstrating an effective outline to structure my project. I understood the perspective of adolescents receiving preventative interventions such as dependency education; however, now I will consider the HOW and through what means will these patients access this. Another aspect I didn’t consider is improving the efficacy and optimization of the intervention itself. Dependency education is the original intervention, but how can we ensure the receiving population will be receptive to the intervention? Dependency education can be held as a group activity, individual counseling, or independent pamphlets. An additional aspect is the measurement of the effectiveness of the intervention and for my project, determining if preventative measures had any effect on the percentage of substance use disorders among adolescents. It is also important to note if the intervention is merely correlated, or if there is a direct cause and effect. A discharge survey would be a useful tool to gauge the thoughts and opinions of the adolescents on the dependency education and if it has changed their perspective on substances.

A small, connected group of individuals who routinely collaborate to care for specific patient populations is known as a clinical microsystem. Usually, this little group is a part of a bigger one. Examples of organizations that are built around a common need or goal include spine centers and newborn critical care units. Along with a small number of patients and some administrative support, doctors, nurses, and other clinicians make up a large clinical microsystem, with information and information technology playing a crucial role as participants (Chang, 2019). The US-based Dartmouth Institute developed the clinical microsystems technique, which is used to promote long-term improvements in
healthcare: The core elements of institutions like hospitals are clinical microsystems, which are characterized as the little units where care is offered to a group of patients, such as wards, outpatient clinics, and diagnostic departments. My theme will be addressing the limited access to healthcare for immigrant populations. One of the readings in the clinical microsystems greenbook that is closely related to my subject is the concept of leadership. Leadership, because of its impact on immigrants' access to healthcare, will help me create my change project. Many immigrant families encounter difficulties enrolling in health insurance programs even when they are eligible for coverage (Chang, 2019). This is due to a number of challenges, including anxiety, uncertainty about the qualifications, difficulty understanding the registration process, problems with language and literacy, and more. Healthcare facility management aims to guarantee that each patient receives the proper treatment. Given their standing as a population, leaders must make sure that immigrants receive the best treatment available. Another component of leadership is advocating for the passing of legislation that encourages the supply of benefits to immigrants. Executives of public health organizations must make critical judgments regarding the most effective methods for supporting the proper health policies and practices in their areas.
I have a question. Pls see above other student’s Discussion prompts. Other students are mentioning their project topic. Do you think you would add the project topic? On the top of your previous Discussion Prompt? Or Do you think that “comprehensive sexual health education and provides options for behavior modification.” what you mentioned could be the project topic?
I do not know why everyone is writing about their project topic. Pls let me know your opinion.

Use of AI in preventing falls among Dementia Patients
Problem Identification
An important medical problem in assisted living homes is preventing falls among residents who have dementia. Injuries, decreased quality of life, higher healthcare expenditures, and even death may all occur from falls. The usefulness of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in this setting is still up for debate, but it has emerged as a viable option for preventing such falls (Harris et al., 2018). Dementia is a neurodegenerative disease that progressively impairs memory, reasoning, and motor functions, increasing the risk of falling. It is a tough undertaking for assisted living homes to avoid falls among their
residents who have dementia. Fall prevention techniques that use artificial intelligence have been suggested (Tappen, 2022). These include predictive analytics, wearable devices, and monitoring systems.
PICOT Question:
In dementia patients in assisted living facilities (P), does the Artificial Intelligence-based fall-prevention strategies (I) compared to usual practice (C) minimize fall incidence (O) within three months (T)?
Population: Dementia patients in assisted living facilities
Intervention: Implementation of Artificial Intelligence-based fall prevention strategies
Comparison: Standard care
Outline: Reduction of fall incidence
Time: three months
Selected Reading and Microsystem:
Since this initiative aims to improve healthcare delivery systems, the "Long Term Care Workbook " is pertinent. The article "Using Technology to Enhance Patient Safety" is one reading from this source that is very relevant to the issue. Shedding light on how artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies may be incorporated into healthcare microsystems to improve patient safety and outcomes, this microsystem will aid in developing the change project (Gerrish et al., 2019). It may provide pointers on how to evaluate the microsystem's preparedness for AI implementation, how to build workflows, how to deal with ethical considerations, and how to evaluate the effect of AI on preventing falls and improving patients' health. Implementing and evaluating the efficacy of AI-based fall prevention strategies in assisted living facilities for dementia patients requires knowledge of project planning, management, and research methodologies; books like "Project Planning and Management: A Guide for Nurses and inter-professional Teams" and "Advanced Nursing Research from theory to practice" provide useful information in these areas. A well-organized and evidence-based strategy for the project may be achieved with these references.
