Activity 3: Case Study Human Resources (50%)

Introduction:

In this Case study you’re asked to apply the contents of the HRM Module to the practice

of HRM in a sport context.

A few practical guidelines:

- Please deliver assignments 3.1 and 3.2 in one report

- Add a title page with your name and a title in your report - Add a list of contents in your report - Refer to resources and add a resources list

Assignment 3.1: SRSA Annual Reports

Step 1) Compare the HR chapters of the SRSA Annual Reports of 17/18 and 18/19.

What development(s) do you read in the HRM vision and/or practices in the two

reports?

- Refer to the contents of the module in your explanation. - Indication for the length: 1 A4, Calibri 11.

Step 2) Write a HR chapter for the report of 19/20 based on the contents of the module.

What do you think we can expect in that report?

- No specific data from the SRSA is compulsory. You can use what is available on internet.

- Furthermore: use your own imagination, it is a ‘free writing’ assignment about your vison on HRM! So what do you think should be in a company’s HR chapter

in the annual report of 2019-2020?

- Indication for the length: 1 A4, Calibri 11.

Assignment 3.2: Evaluation of the HR policy in a sport related company of your

own choice (preferably your own company if possible!)

Step 1) Give a short description of the company and show the organizational chart

(maximum length of 1,5 pages A4, Calibri 11)

Step 2) Evaluate the current HR policy and practices in this organization, based on the

6 topics of the module. Refer to the contents of the Module (maximum length of 2 pages

A4, Calibri 11)

Step 3) Work out a visual for the HR strategy (maximum length of 1 page A4, Calibri

11).

Step 4) Choose one of the 6 topics of the Module and work out an advice / plan for that

topic for your organization (maximum length of 2 pages Calibri A4)

Activity 3: Case Study

Student answers the case study questions with minimal application of the provided theory Students does not show enough comprehension of the theory in the case study

Student can apply the requested theory to the case study and in doing so shows comprehension of the theory from the Module Student can analyze and evaluate the HRM policy based on and with referral to some of the course materials Student can give some advice for improvement of the HR practice in the cases study, but only in general terms

In applying theory in the case study, student makes connections between the different Topics. Student can critically analyze and evaluate the case study based upon the theory, in which the student shows in- depth application of the content of the module. Student can give an in-dept advice for the improvement of the HR practice in the case study
