· Many professional nursing organizations engage in the development of health policy. Nurses should participate in health and nursing policy issues through membership in one or more of these organizations.

· Choose one local, state, or national nursing organization other than American Nurses Association (ANA) that has an interest in policy development and advocacy. Include the following criteria in the post:

· Describe the organizational status (national / date)

· Discuss the vision/mission

· Identify the organization’s mandates or objectives/goals

· Describe the policy goals (if they have written one)

· Discuss policy products (briefs, positions statements, White Papers, social media)

· Assess the webpage that outlines their political activity

· Describe the mechanisms for nurses to engage in the activity
