ACL Tutorial Assignments

ACL is used extensively in internal and external auditing to test data. Your assignment over Sessions 6 through 9 is to complete a 5-part self-guided tutorial and submit your completed work on the due dates identified below. |

The following tutorial assignments are supplemental exercises that relate to ACL topics covered in chapters 7, 8, 9 & 10 in the Hall/Singleton textbook. To complete these tutorial assignments, download the ACL Desktop Education Edition from the CD in your book. Follow the schedule below and submit all assignments by 11:59PM on the last day of the weekly session. Download the tutorials by clicking on the link in the table, opening the tutorial and saving the Word document to your computer. Follow the directions in each tutorial and respond the questions within the document. Write your responses in the document. To document or illustrate parts of your work you may submit screenshots in addition to the Work documents from the tutorial. To create screenshots, you may want to use JING, it is a free software from Techsmith. After saving the screenshots to your computer, insert them as images into the assignment document. JING is available athttp://www.techsmith.com/jing/ Select the free download. These tutorials use data tables stored in the Sample Project.acl that is automatically installed with ACL. Open the sample project and click on the appropriate table to perform the tutorial. The name of the table is indicated boldface prior to each section in the tutorial (e.g. Payroll). The following are ACL resources that you may find helpful during this project.
