Language at The Workplace

The issue prompt that I have chosen is the language. They are linguistic issues to communication. That is the difficulties in communication experienced by groups or peoples speaking various languages. The importance of creating a common language in the organization is that it assures that all the organization members understand the expectations. When the staff and the management-speak similar language, there is a camaraderie feeling, and the relationship between them is stronger. In the healthcare facility, the language barrier tends to affect the patients and the medical providers of health (Culturewise, 2017. The issue of language contributes to reducing the satisfaction of both the medical provider and the patient, and also the communication between them is affected. The language barrier between healthcare providers and patients results in more medical errors, more extended hospital stays, and lower patient satisfaction. The interest of patients is to get the best medical treatment in healthcare.

Healthcare providers' interest is to give the best medical treatment to the patients and take good care of them. Some laws mandate that healthcare providers should take reasonable steps to overcome the language barrier. A patient who feels that a provider has discriminated against them by denying language services access may file a complaint of civil rights. Some of the conflicts that can occur between the stakeholder and the legal risks are when the healthcare provider neglects to provide appropriate treatment. Some of the recommendations on the issue of language are that there should be the development of a national strategy for health interpreter training, the standard of service provision, and interpreter accreditation. I can also recommend that healthcare facilities increase the number of healthcare providers who speak other languages if any patient comes. They speak a different language the other healthcare provider can interpret, and this can reduce the effect of the language issue in the facilities.
