Marquee Challenge Challenge 1 Summarizing Catering Event Information 1. Dana Hirsch, manager of The Waterfront Bistro, has requested a summary report

from the catering information database. Dana would like the summary report to group catering revenue by type of event and by date, in quarter intervals. In the report, Dana wants the data sorted in descending order by total revenue so that the highest-revenue events are listed first. Dana created a query that contains the fields and calculations needed but does not know how to group the data and has asked for your assistance. Begin with 4-WBSpecialEvents-MC-1-HOA open and enable the content, if necessary.

2. Look at the report in Figure 4.1. The data is grouped by type of event in rows and by date of event in quarter intervals in columns.

3. Create a crosstab query to generate the data for the report. Name the query RevByEventByQtr and base it on the Revenue_and_Gratuity query.

4. Design and create a report similar to the one shown in Figure 4.1 based on the RevByEventByQtr query. Use your best judgment to determine the style and report formatting elements (delete the date, time, and page number content controls). The theme used is named Ion and the formatting incorporates theme colors. You will need to add totals at the bottom of columns, move a column, and center the title control object.
