Creating a Multiple-Table Form

Purpose: To demonstrate the ability to use date, long text, and OLE fields, and create a multiple-table form.

Problem: You have been asked to update the Outlets table in the HaveMore Electronics database as well as create a multitable form and a query using dates.

Instructions: Open the Access_Chapter_5_-_Lab_Test_A_-_HaveMore_Electronics database file provided in a location specified by your instructor, and perform the following tasks:

1. Open the Outlets table.

2. Add the fields Phone Orders, Online Orders, and Updates to the Outlets table as shown in Figure A5A – 1.

3. Save the changes to the structure.

4. Add the data shown in Table A5A – 1 to the Outlets table.

5. Close the Outlets table.

6. Create the form in Figure A5A – 2. Use Outlets Form as the name of the form and Sales Rep Form as the name of the subform. The title is bold and has a font size of 24. The labels are blue, bold, and etched with a transparent border style. The fields have a sunken special effect.

7. Save the changes to the form.

8. Print the form. (To print the form, view the form with data, then click the Print button and select Selected Record(s) as the Print Range.)

9. Close the form.

10. Create the following queries:

(a) All sales representatives hired after 12/1/2004. Save the query as Sales Rep by Date.

(b) All outlets that have online ordering. Save the query as Online Outlets.

(c) All outlets that lack phone ordering. Save the query as Outlets Needing Phone Ordering.

11. Close the database. Submit the results according to the instructions provided by your instructor.
