Re: Academic Integrity Letter of Inquiry

Dear Ariel,

Walden University’s Code of Conduct sets forth expectations regarding student work and other content in our Academic Integrity policies. Walden considers academic integrity to be essential for each student’s intellectual development. In evaluating your Week 6 assignment, I have identified a potential issue that relates to academic integrity. Specifically, in the power point you submitted, 8 of the 11 slides match very closely to the work of another student, including several slides that match 100% to that student.

For more information regarding our academic integrity policies and process, I refer you to our university Code of Conduct, found in the Student Conduct and Responsibilities section of the student handbook found online at http://catalog.waldenu.edu (Select Handbook from the drop down menu, then select Section 3: Student Expectations and Responsibilities then select Code of Conduct) that you were asked to review at the time of admission and orientation Each student, by accepting the offer of admission, agrees to abide by the policies contained in the student catalog and handbook

This letter serves as a formal request for information that will provide an explanation for this issue. Please provide a written response to these concerns by email within five (5) days of the date of this letter, therefore no later than January 18, 2021. Your response should address the concern and include any information that explains the process or procedure you used to complete the assignment or content. Please respond to me directly, at the email address provided below.

Based on the information I have presented in this letter, and the response you provide, academic leadership will determine how the matter will best be resolved. If we do not hear from you by January 18, 2021, the decision will be based on the information presented in this letter.

Please feel free to contact me or your academic leadership if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jacqueline DeBrew, Core Faculty
