150 to 250 words summarizing a full paper; agricultural economics example. Abstract This paper discusses five published articles on the agriculture sector in California. The literature explores the dry climate of California and its impact on agricultural systems. Hayden (2015) suggests that drought patterns can remain in the state for decades, concurrent with escalating demand on a limited and declining resource of groundwater. Using data from the USDA Census of Agriculture, Deschenes and Kolstad (2011) evaluated the effect of weather and climate on agricultural profits in the state and estimate that climate change will have a negative effect on profits by the end of the century. This paper also examines state labor policy regarding migrant workers and challenges to sustaining a stable farm workforce in California.
