Abortion

Abortion is to intentional expulsion of either a fetus or an embryo from the uterus before full development that may enable it to survive outside the womb. Abortion leads to the end of a pregnancy. The issue of the legality of abortion in the United States has been an issue not only in the United States but also in the whole world. Abortion has been an issue of morality, rights of a woman over her body as well as rights of the fetus. Roe V. Wade was a ruling by the Supreme Court of the United States. This ruling was to give liberty to any woman who wished to have an abortion without immoderate restriction by the US government. According to Messerli, some people perceive abortion as reprehensible murder, while others think that the restriction of abortion is violating the rights of a woman over her own body. The argument is as follows, “Abortions should be banned. It’s a horrible thing to do! Abortions are extremely dangerous due to millions of women dying every year from getting them. Plus, poor innocent babies are killed under horrific circumstances when a woman aborts . Any act that results in the death of people is wrong. In conclusion, abortion should not be supported because it is an act of murder, and murder is wrong. The argument is deductive. The premises given aim at strongly supporting the conclusion. In summary, the argument tries to convince a person that abortion is wrong because it leads to the death of women and children. This leads to murder, and murder is wrong. The argument is trying to state that deaths are occurring worldwide, sometimes of children only and sometimes of both the mother and the child worldwide. Therefore, due to the deaths caused by abortion, abortion should be illegal. The argument is valid. According to statistics from the World Health Organization, the number of death of women due to abortion has decreased. However, deaths are still occurring because of the unsafe abortions occurring worldwide, most notably in developing countries. According to the statistics made by the World Health Organization, unsafe abortions are among the leading causes of deaths, during the abortion, or even after the abortion when the mother is giving birth to another child.
