Supervision is an act or process that involves giving direction and watching how a certain activity is done. The aim of carefully watching is to ensure a certain activity is correctly and safely done. Management is a process intended to achieve various objectives of a plan (Kossek et al., 2018). Achievement of set goals is based on directing and controlling how certain activities are performed by planning and organizing all the necessary resources that will be required in achieving the objectives. Leadership, on the other hand, is a directive process to accomplish a given task. The process involves motivation as an influence on individuals to accomplish their goals.

In my personal life I have had an experience of leadership role in the university in leading a group project. The university project had several members would had differentiated roles to perform towards accomplishment of the project. I being the leader, the members expected giving them directions on how to carry out their activities to meet the project objectives. The project was to accomplished by first identifying and allocating resources that were required to make objectives are met before the end of the course (Simone,2016).Additionally, for the success of the project also required supervision of the members to ensure each of the performs their role in a manner which is acceptable. For the entire project involved employing leadership techniques of motivating the members to ensure they deliver quality results.

The major primary learning I learned in this course was leadership and management. Leadership as a primary objective in the course emphasizes areas such as planning, organizing, and controlling as the key components for effective leadership to make sure the goals and objectives of planned projects are achieved (Amanchukwu, Stanley & Ololube, 2015). On the other hand, management primary learning in the course was concerned about ways to increase an individual's efficiency in productions to improve their productivity. The two primary learning is very valuable for the development of career skills and as my future job. Firstly, Leadership skills learned in the course will be helpful in my job because will enable in planning and organizing for projects expected in the organization I will work. Management skill from the course will help in ensuring quality achievement by directing employee’s effectively and also proper utilization of resources.

In my degree of education, the main goal is focusing on is to acquire knowledge and skill I leadership and management before course completion. Secondly, I would also want to learn how to plan and improve time management. In my career goals, I want to have skills that will enable in career-advancing office positions such as a manager (Galpin, Whitttington & Bell, 2015). To accomplish these goals it will require creating a plan which will act as a guide for the action I undertake in achieving goals. Secondly, is through time management that will help in ensuring that every activity is done at the right time and on time. Lastly, is through avoiding procrastination during education and in a future career.

Resources such as books are essential in personal development because they provide ideas and strategies to achieve set goals. The reasons for using the resources in personal development were to acquire new knowledge and as a motivator to cope. Resources such as books and websites can be useful in professional development because they provide new knowledge and skills to advance in their career (Smith & Wong, 2016). New ideas and knowledge gained from these resources will help improve skills in leadership and management in my career. Additionally; resources also help as a motivator to cope with some situations in the professional. This is important because it builds one's psychology and this will help in understanding some challenges in the career field.
