Step 1. Get all documents

Open the folder ABC Book Assignment Directions and print out a copy of these

assignment directions (this PowerPoint presentation).

Save this document “Research Notes Form” to your computer. You will need to open up the document, type on it, save it with your last name in the title (when you are finished), and submit it to the Blackboard course along with the ABC Book itself.

You will be writing an Alphabet Book or ABC Book about one area of exceptionality.

Identify the exceptionality in the space provided on the document.

Record your list of terms on the “Research Notes Form.”

Use your TEXTBOOK to identify terms. Record the page number from the text next to the term.

Step 5. Create your ABC Book.

Your ABC Book needs to have

1. A title page with

A title, a picture/graphic, your name, SPED 5361 Semester (Will Vary)

2. A table of contents

Listing all of the terms in ABC order

Page numbers

3. A page for each term

The term

A definition of the term/information about the term (at least 2 paragraphs). You will need to paraphrase the information from the website here. You cannot just copy, cut, and paste what is on your research document. If you use exact words from a website, be sure to place the exact words in quotation marks. The purpose of this is for you to synthesize the information, not just provide a listing or string of quotations.

4. Save your document as a PDF FILE. Be sure to include your last name as part of the title.

Step 6. Upload your ABC Book to the course

Click on the link, ABC Book. Follow the steps to attach and submit your documents [the research notes document (word file) and the ABC Book (pdf file)].
