Thesis Statement: Despite being a widely used and evidence-based approach in the field of psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is often surrounded by myths, misconceptions, and truths that are often misunderstood by the general public, leading to the stigmatization of the practice and its practitioners, and hindering its potential to benefit individuals with developmental disabilities.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based and widely used approach in the field of psychology that has the potential to benefit individuals with developmental disabilities (Cooper et al., 2020). However, it is often surrounded by myths, misconceptions, and truths that are misunderstood by the public, leading to the stigmatization of the practice and its practitioners. It is essential to address these myths and misconceptions to promote the effectiveness of ABA and benefit individuals with developmental disabilities. This requires collaboration between practitioners, researchers, and the public to improve understanding and acceptance of ABA. By working together, they can ensure that individuals with developmental disabilities receive the best possible care and support.
