I. Please insert write a 1-paragraph paper (at least 6 sentences) on the fundamental ways that you think make for effective learning and what it might look like in your classroom or profession (see the other document if you need more details on what this should include and the grading rubric, I will use to access this part). Remember APA 7th edition formatting here (double-spaced, indent paragraph etc.). No abstract needed.

There are several fundamental strategies by which learning can be successful. However, you must realize that not every student will acquire knowledge in the same way if you want learning in the classroom to be effective. According to Gardner’s Multiple intelligences there can be Kinesthetic, Visual, Spatial, Linguistic, Interpersonal, Intrapersonal or Musical learners in your class. I believe for a classroom to be effective; the teacher must understand the learner’s thought process. For a teacher to understand a learner’s thought process they must ensure that when teaching, open-ended questions are often used, along with explanations of the students' thinking processes and how they arrived at particular answers or conclusions. I believe another strategy that may be employed in a variety of learning scenarios and is particularly good at enhancing students' analytical abilities, comprehension, and self-control is allowing students to reflect on their mistakes and potential solutions. Additionally, the teacher needs to use teaching methods to promote and steer students toward academic progress.

“To teach students how to be effective learners, teachers must understand the learning theory that supports 21st-century approaches. Educational learning theory describes how students receive, process, and retain knowledge during learning. There has traditional been only conversations about these four major educational learning theories are Behaviorism, Cognitivism, Humanism, and Constructivism” (Hinton, 2021, para 1)

II. Begin by first reading the following blog/article regarding these four theories. https://www.jeffreyahinton.com/post/educational-learning-theory-for-the-21st-century#:~:text=The%20four%20major%20educational%20learning,passive%20participants%20in%20their%20learning.

III. Now that you have read the above four learning theories, let’s explore other learning theories that have branch from some of these and others that have expanded a changed the paradigm about effective teaching and learning.

IV. The following is a list of Learning Theories. Some we will explore in our text and others will not be included. You will complete the next portion by visiting the library and searching CSU’s online database. I would advise visiting the library and getting help. You should explore these Learning Theories and choose which one best supports your beliefs about effective teaching and learning.

WHAT’S A JOURNAL ANYWAYS?

Journals are the predominant place that academics and researchers publish their research and ideas. What sets journals apart from other publications is that all the published articles are reviewed by expert reviewers and evaluated for their academic worthiness. This means that not all articles submitted are published and that most authors have articles rejected or sent back for revision before they are accepted for publication.

THE ASSIGNMENT

This assignment asks you to search professional journals that publish research articles related to specific theorists and learning theories, and their relationships to classroom practice. You will explore what types of research are published in the field of Ed Psyc., how people in this field write, and what is currently being talked about and researched in this field relative to human learning, child development, and/or classroom practices. Knowing what’s going on can help you design good projects that meet the research demands of your field, follow the research and data collection methods of your field, and that people will find interesting and useful for the current topics in your field.

VI. Type below directly after the questions.

You will need to locate at least THREE peer-reviewed specific articles that discuss your chosen Learning Theory and theorist.

Components that the articles must address:

You need to choose articles that (AS A WHOLE) will provide you information about the following:

· A biography of the theorists in reference and the importance of this person’s work in reference to the discipline of education.

· Make sure that the article provides relevant information about the theorist as it relates to his/her work with the theory.

· You will need to know the key ideas & basic assumptions related to the theorists’ ideologies (beliefs of the theorist and recommended practices). You will eventually need to provide important terms and define them so make sure one or more of your articles help with this information.

· You must choose at least ONE article that provides examples of how one might see the theory “in action” in the classroom or school environment. This can include discussion of how your chosen theory applies to teaching and/or classroom/behavior management.

You will need to upload a PDF copy of each article along with this assignment to D2L by the deadline for this assignment. DO NOT GIVE ME A LINK. You must provide the PDF file!
