4) Are preliminary results and recommendations based on the analysis presented? Recommendations justified?
AAF Evaluation by EDI (Kelly McLaughlin, Eddie Mapel, Ali Alsunitan)
1) Was the project context clearly described and illustrated?
Yes, they explained very clearly with specific numbers how production is doing well but labor is negative for a certain workstation. They provided good background and motivation for the problem. It was interesting to hear how a similar workstation doesn’t have the same problem which is a reason you are looking into this issue.
2) Are the objectives of the project and associated performance measures well define?
Yes, they had a quantitative objective to meet their goal. However, maybe explain more why you think this goal is achievable such as is there data to back up your goal? Also you might want to add if you are increasing workstation output how does that affect overall costs/profits?
3) Is a quantitative IE analysis being conducted? Has the appropriate data been collected?
Yes, the team conducted time studies to collect data and are now using Simio, Littles Law, and a few other analysis techniques to review the data. They are doing a good job running current and vs future simulations and getting estimates on output/hr. Remember to validate your outputs though.
4) Are preliminary results and recommendations based on analysis presented?
The results from their simulation seem very promising! They provided an updated layout of the department and explained the different things they are going to implement to alleviate bottlenecks. Maybe try to brainstorm potential problems that could occur when your solution is implemented and start to think of ways to alleviate those problems. This could help solve problems quicker in the future and help your team achieve the best solution.
5) Was the project schedule status provided? What needs to be done to ensure successful project completion?
Yes they provided a solid plan with specific dates. Good idea to present to the company soon so they can hopefully implement your solution so you have time to make changes for potential problems that may arise.
