EXAMPLE:

1. CONFINED SPACE ENTRY PERMITS: Confined space entry permits protect the employee from possible hazards the might not be readily apparent, having someone with expertise check for hazards before having the permit issued  can save your life or prevent an explosion.

I think that this is important because most people are not aware of the dangers or hazards of what could harm or kill them if they are not aware of what could be inside of a confined space - dangerous gasses, lack of oxygen possible flooding or entrapment. 

1. Flashpoint

A Flashpoint is the lowest temperature at which a liquid can form an ignitable mixture in air near the surface of the liquid.

I think that is a important concept in the investigation or fires and the prevention of fires being it is the lowest temperature at which a risk of fire exists with a presented liquid. It is very important in any given conditions to verify the existence of some liquids and to understand its flashpoint during the process of an investigation.
