Conclusion and summary

Cloud computing has transformed businesses and has helped to reduce the operational cost that companies incur yet at the same time it has increased efficiency. Even though cloud computing has appeared useful and has come in handy in production environments and in the corporate world; the technology has faced a lot of security issues and is still in its infancy level. There is a need to conduct more research on how to optimize its efficiency and security.

This exploratory research employed the techniques of qualitative research and sought to fill up a gap in previous studies with the major aim of making contributions to the body of knowledge within the field of wireless security in cloud computing. Qualitative research employs interviews in its inquiry which is conducted in a natural setting while putting to use both deductive and inductive techniques whose outcomes are the researchers’ reflexivity, participants’ voice, description of the problem and interpretation as well as call for change (O’reilly,2013).This research applied the adoptive phenomenological method in the exploration of the qualitative features of banking. This method is recommended in establishing truth while collecting data.

The research design was naturalistic. A naturalistic design involves the observation of a phenomenon and the careful record of the behavior especially in the natural setting of the phenomenon. Observations were conducted in financial institutions and notes taken. In every setting, a separate room was used to conduct a validating interview with the aim of acquiring the meaning the cloud computing situation as observed previously. The observations took note of how the bankers went about their work like record keeping, accounting, customer data validation and authentication while questions were asked to obtain their view with regard to the experience of using cloud environments and what they thought about wireless security in these environments. The thematic areas of the study included, risk management, data security, performance and data quality management.

The characteristics of the study design, as shown above, describe a naturalistic study design. The survey aimed at discovering the actions of bankers when they are engaged in banking activities circumstances via big data, a control experiment was also done where the participants were not using big data analytics to do the same things to note the difference. The study thematic areas included: service delivery, risk management, data quality management, and performance.

This study observed confidentiality, consent and ensured the minimal destruction of human life and property. The participants were first taken through the purposes of the research and briefed about their rights and the will to withdraw at any point and time if they wished to, as demanded by the principles of scientific research (Connley,2014). The participants were also informed of any dangers that could arise and the benefits of participating in the research. This helped to define the informed research consent. During the study, confidentiality was observed where each and every participant made an involuntary and independent decision to take part in the study.

This paper suggests that four areas are of notable importance with regard to policy standardization i.e Compliance: harmonization of regulatory and legal frameworks to be better suited to assist in the provision of high-level security, privacy, and trust in cloud computing. Accountability: this is concerned with the improvement of rules that enable the users to exercise improvement of models of service levels as their primary means of ensuring accountability in meeting privacy security and trust obligations. Governance: there is the need to ensure that operational risk control is enhanced by relevant bodies and that incident monitoring is done appropriately. Transparency: There is need to improve the manner in which levels of privacy, security and trust afforded to end users and cloud customers can be measured, discerned and managed including conducting research on how to adopt best practices with regard to security issues and automated means for customers to exercise rights as well as establishing guidelines for incidence response.

This paper recommends that there is the need to come up with an optimal combination of governance and service provision considering the existing costs, market context and legal environment as well as the uncertainties and complexities associated with these factors. There is also the need to take into consideration the interests of all the involved stakeholders to ensure that these optimal arrangements are successfully achieved while preserving the impact of cloud computing.

Future research

While previous work has identified a wide range of critical issues concerned with security within the cloud environments and many works in the recent past focusing on general issues concerning security and privacy of cloud environments have been brought to the limelight, this paper proposes the standardization of security policies as well users awareness as some of the ways of curbing the security issues within cloud environments. This paper, therefore, proposes that there should be a trusted cloud service provider working under the accepted codes of conduct and best practices as provided by the law. This paper provides critical information that policymakers and enterprises can use to streamline policies with best practices for optimum service delivery and outcomes. However, this research fails to give detailed information whether there is a return on investment in cloud computing owing to the information risk that comes with its usage. Future research should address this issue and set clarifications so that the corporate world can know how best to use this technological package
