In any job environment , professional ethics is a key to have customer satisfaction and business success. Knowles clearly indicated that , if cybersecurity professionals lack moral values or ethics, there is no difference between them and black hat attackers (Knowles, 2016). So, not to harm our customers, we have too have ethics equally as cybersecurity skills. Therefore, organizations should implement ethical practice policy, guidelines and code of conduct for the IT staff and security practitioners.

A policy is essentially a written objective or guidebook that designates how to handle various workplace scenarios, and a procedure outlines what steps to take to achieve the policy. As technology changes, policies and procedures require maintenance and updating to remain effective. We need to Regularly review even the most well written policies and procedures to align with the current technology applications. There is no specific time to which businesses adhere, but best practice is to look over each policy at least every two to three years for relevancy and accuracy. Changes to policies and procedures are inevitable in order to adjust to an organization’s needs. Routine maintenance ensures that a company’s policies and procedures continue to align with its mission and goals as technology advancement and change affects the over all flow of the daily business activities (Banach, n.d.). Finally, our policy should align and consider the technology change in this digital world.
