The introduction should identify the a few ethical issues that are prevalent in healthcare that you found in the literature. Write one or two sentences explaining each issue. Introduce the ethical issue that has occurred in your work area. Write one or two sentences that explains this issue. Introduce the ethical decision-making model that will serve as the basis for this discussion of the ethical issue in your work setting. Don’t forget to cite appropriately.

Ethical Issue in Workplace

Discuss the actual ethical issue that has occurred in your work setting. Provide sufficient background so the issue is clear. Support the fact that this is an ethical issue, with references from your research. Use the ethical principles and the code of ethics to explain the rationale for it being an ethical issue. Limit this section to two to four paragraphs (one page).

Ethical Decision-Making Model

Discuss the decision-making model that you were provided in the directions for this assignment. Use this model to analyze your own ethical issue. Work through each step of the ethical decision-making model in detail, to analyze the ethical issue. Limit this section to two pages.

How Patients, Families, and Healthcare Workers are affected by the Issue

Describe how the ethical issue in your work place, affected the patient, family, and the healthcare workers who were involved in the issue. Include a description of the varying viewpoints based on values, beliefs and culture about the issue. Discuss how you view this issue. Relate your personal ethical lens to your view. Describe how you think the issue should have been handled. Provide a rationale for your answer. Make recommendations regarding how this issue can best be addressed in the future. Support your recommendations with findings from the literature. This is the only section that can be written in the first person. All other areas of the paper should be written in third person. This section should be no longer than one page.

Conclusion

The conclusion should be a summary of all of the main points in the paper. The conclusion should be one paragraph in length. Your paper is to be 6 pages in length, not including the title page and reference sheet. The running head and page numbers must be done correctly. It is to be double-spaced, and be written with Times New Roman, 12 font, and 1 inch borders. The paper needs to meet the standards of professional writing in nursing, including accurate grammar, spelling, and syntax. It must be in APA format.
