What items did you find to be compelling and enlightening? And what advise can you offer?
Using the Leadership Trait Questionnaire “articulate” is my greatest strength. Articulating is communicating and collaborating effectively with others. While I am working at large natural gas organization that serves millions of Southern California customers I have a different perspective of how I work with stakeholders and employees.
I support 5 Account Executives that go out to Mobile home Parks to install single meters in each unit. There are so many steps the Account Executives are responsible for and application processes. With these applications I need to keep close contact with them the status and from start to finish when residents single meter has been installed. I need to constantly communicate with them face to face, via email, live stream for discrepancies and incomplete applications that need to be corrected for them to get service.
We have built trustworthy relationships throughout the process and have completed 273 Mobile home Parks working together for the past 4 years. In leadership groups means direct, face to face contact between leader and followers it is personal and social control (Wickham & Walther, 2007). I can call myself an emergent leader because there is no leader being assigned to the group. We all work on our own and handle the mobile home Parks separately and independently.
Emergent leaders are in group projects as the self-appointed note-taker position (Wickham & Walther, 2007). Every mobile home Park I assist with is a project that last one to two years. I must have the frequency of chronology messages that are important characteristics that predict which group member is the leader at that time.
My weakness is always saying “yes” I can do it and add more tasks to my daily work. I feel like if I say “no” too much work it makes me look weak and not a multitask person or someone who can monitor their day with high to low priorities what to do first.
