Case Study Requirement

Patient Administration ALC Course (340-68G30-C45)

Case Study Requirement

Students will be provided a case study to which they must identify and present an appropriate solution or solutions. It is expected that all resources at a student’s disposal will be utilized, to include publications, the internet, the AMEDDC&S library, as well as individual subject matter experts (i.e., other PAD personnel, PAD Chiefs/NCOICs), with the exception of the PAB instructors – you may not use them. Students may use each other as resources. However, students with the same case study must not consult each other – each student must develop their own solution. Not all case studies will have a ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answer but merely a best answer.

Presentation of Findings

Individual students will provide an oral presentation of their findings and decisions to a panel of PAB staff officers and the other members of the class. The presentations will not exceed 10 minutes and will not be less than 8 minutes. PowerPoint slides are not required but are highly encouraged. Students will briefly state the case study problem or issue and provide their answer along with an appropriate justification for the answer. All references must be cited to include who or what and when. Upon completion of the presentation, the PAB panel and fellow students will be allowed to ask questions of the presenter for 10 minutes. Be prepared to ‘defend’ your solution by explaining the logic behind it. Case studies will be presented on 12 March 2019 from 1300 – UTC.

Case studies must be submitted to the Course Advisor no later than midnight 21 March 2019 , any case studies submitted after the due date will not be accepted.

General Format for Visual Presentation

The following PowerPoint slides are examples of the recommended format for presentation of a student’s case study findings. Included within these example slides are format directions and helpful tips.
