Instruction: Module 7 Create Your Own Think Aloud

Purposes for Students –

·         to review and then add to their understanding of the think-aloud method of teaching reading comprehension

·         to explore the types of resources available for teachers on the Internet

Procedures –  

1.   Locate the You Tube website and think aloud video listed in the link above. (You may find other videos of think alouds posted on the Internet as well.)

2.   Review the think-aloud method in your textbook and then to watch and listen carefully to the entire video, noting how the instructor signals to the students when she is reading aloud versus when she is thinking aloud.

3.   Create your own Think Aloud using the Canvas Video function (You can also post a Youtube link) . You can use a picture book or a story of your choice for children k-2nd grade. This should be 2

4. Comment on two of your classmate's videos.
