Do you agree with the example of confidentiality stated below? Discuss the differences between confidentiality, privacy, and privileged communication, as well as the differences between the duty to warn and duty to protect. What would you think is the most important aspect of confidentiality as it relates to your profession?

When it comes to confidentiality, it is very important for a person to have, especially if they are a doctor or a lawyer, they must not tell anyone no of your business that you have discuss with them. The term confidentiality also means that the person who is telling their lawyer something needs to know that they have the right not to share this information with no one at all that also includes their other half. For example, if I have a client who tells me something that they have done wrong (I am a lawyer) I do not have the right to tell anyone especially if they have hired me and I am now defending them.

When it comes to Privileged communication it is the right of the client if they do not want any of that information shared at all no matter what. For example, it can be done at a legal hearing. If I am going to divorce my husband, I may not want everyone to know the reason why I am doing it only my lawyer.

According to Beltran-Aroca et al., (2016) confidentiality is important to safeguard the well-being of patients and ensure the confidence of society in the doctor-patient relationship. This is another example of confidentiality because a doctor may know that you are extremely sick. However, you have told him that you do not want your family to know about it even if you must be in the hospital. He is legally responsible is to keep your information confidentiality no matter what.

In my workplace, it is especially important for me to keep many things confidentiality because I have access to many things, like bank account information, credit cards information, passwords, and private phone numbers. If I leak this to anyone, the trust is gone, and I am out of job.

Finally, to conclude this, according to Reamer PhD (2007) confidentiality is an important element in the relationship. You must make sure that you have this and fully understand the importance of it.
