External Data for Internal Decisions
In the prior module, discussion 7.1 led us to discover the ways in which we might respond if our data analysis reveals conclusions that may not align with our expectations or hypotheses in undertaking a data gathering project. In this module, our chapter, article readings, and podcast call us to consider the ways data are met not by researchers, but rather by intended audiences. In particular, data are used in the podcast episode to identify several of the ways in which the relationship between a local university and its surrounding neighborhood has faltered.
After listening to the episode, assume the role of a chief decision maker for the University of Chicago. https://podcast-stream.wbez.org/curious_city/2019/04/21/its-complicated-the-university-of-chicagos-relationship-with-its-neighbors_katie-obrien.mp3?siteplayer=true&dl=1
