Ethical behavior can be viewed at a personal level, as well as a corporate level. In business, personal ethics is often tied to the agency theory, and at the corporate level, it is tied to corporate social responsibility. Please provide robust dialogue information or concepts that I may not have considered.

In today’s world, corporate social responsibility is seen as a dominant approach to building relationships with groups or individuals within the community.  Corporations are being more powerful currently and under scrutiny to participate or contribute either socially or politically (Rhodes, 2018).  Working for the Sheriff’s Office, I have seen this firsthand.  Although it is not a big, major corporation, there is a lot of media in reference to law enforcement and I have watched our office turnaround from scandal all by giving back to the community and groups with the community.  The Sheriff’s Office is involved on a large scale with the Special Olympics by raising money and participating in fundraisers.  By doing this and various other projects, our new Sheriff was able to change the way the community viewed us from the scandal of the former Sheriff.  The former Sheriff was involved in many things such as falsifying documents and taking a stipend to drive his personal vehicle all while driving a county vehicle.  He was eventually prosecuted and relieved of his duties. 

When looking at the Consumer Protection Act of 2010, one of the things this brought about was to monitor the financial stability of any major financial firm whose failure could have a negative impact on the U.S. economy on a wide scale (History.com, 2018).  It also composed a council that had the authority to break up banks that were so large they would pose a risk.  It restricts the way banks can invest while limiting their speculative trading and eliminating their proprietary trading (History.com , 2018).  These are just a few of the things that this enacted.  It is my opinion that the oversight that this act provides is in line to keep financial stability within the country as well as keeping ethical guidelines.       ​​​​​​​
