Order 568534: Unit 2
Assignment
Two of the texts assigned in this section, "The Choice" and "Free Trade under Fire," provide compelling stories and evidence that seemingly confirm the win-win outcomes predicted by modern free trade theory. The readings from the Real World Globalization text, however, suggest that protectionist policies-and not free trade-have historically driven economic growth. And that free trade merely increases corporate power at the expense of the working class. Which trade theories and evidence do you find most convincing? Why? Do you find any of the theories suspect? Why?
