There are several individuals who differ on the concept of a husband and wife family.  However, Christ is clear in Mark 10:6-8 that a nuclear family consists of a male and female  (NASB). This is the best institution within a family due to the influence and most importantly, the impact the authority roles have towards the children within the household.  The parents who are male and female train thier children under their discpline that is honoring to Christ, as well as, implementing the standards that only God approves which is opposite sex parenting. Balswick and Balswick (2014) mention that when children are raised with a male and female parent in the home, the children develop a sense of “cohesion” as well as being able to relate to both genders within their friend group due to the foundation established at home (Balswick and Balswick, 2014, p. 169).

Christ is precise in Matthew 18:6 when He commands and warns an adult to not cause a child to stumble (NASB).  The children can potentially become confused when they live within a environment where there are same-sex parents instead of a male and female.  Especially, when the child(ren) visits their friend’s home and the friends parents are male and female. Goldberg and Garcia (2016) mention that according to the “Social Learning Theory” that children who are raised by same-sex parents have an increased chance to not exhibit their gender traits they were born with compared to children raised within a family with parents of the opposite sex (Goldberg and Garcia, 2016, p. 855).   In addition, Balswick and Balswick (2014) mention that according to the Social Learning Theory children can be negatively implacted by thier parents when both parents are of the same-sex (Balswick and Balswick, 2014, p. 135). Also, Balswick and Balswick (2014) address that same-sex parents are unconsciously rebelling against God by approving the lifestyle of same-sex marriage that Christ considers sin (p.138). In addition, the parents are unknowingly misleading their child(ren) and teaching them that Christ approves of same-sex marriage which God is clear in Leviticus 18:22 that homosexualtiy is an absolute abomination to Him (NASB).  Therefore, a nuclear family is considered the best institution within society because it is most importantly, honoring Christ and furthering His Kingdom. Christ mentions in Romans 12:2 to not be conformed to the world, but rather to be transformed in Christ (NASB).
