Team Development Plan

Introduction

In ensuring the stakeholders identified for the project coordinated well, a team will be developed and managed through the use of a well-designed and developed project team plan. The project team will comprise of a project manager, an office manager, contractor, finance team and other members of the project team. The members comprise of employees of the organization such as employees who are selected from different departments in the organization as outlined through the highlighted leaders. With the diverse nature of the stakeholders of the project, there is a need to ensure the stakeholders or members of the project team communicate effectively and understand each other to enhance collaboration among themselves. This calls for the use of an efficient human resource tool, an implementation approach, regulations and emotional intelligence techniques. Also, there has to be effective conflict resolution strategies, conflict sources and ways of measuring goals and rewards. In this paper, all these components of team development and management plan are discussed in detail with the aim of determining how the project team will be managed efficiently.

Human resource tool.

1. The strengths and weaknesses of members shall be identified.

2. Project team norms shall be built before developing the team.

3. Effective ways to manage stress shall be developed.

4. Every member of the team shall be allowed to have a voice.

Conflict resolution strategies

1. The project team manager shall communicate with each party to the conflict individually to understand the source of the problem.

2. A plan shall be drawn on how to address a prevailing conflict.

3. Following up of conflict shall be done regularly.

Conflict sources

1. Task interdependencies among the project team members.

2. Communication and language barriers among the project members.

3. Lack of common performance metrics.

4. Status inconsistencies among the members of the project team members.

Measuring goals and rewards

1. In setting goals, the company’s goal will be used as the major source of reference.

2. The SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-related) (Pinter & Cisar, 2018).

· Each project shall have individual metrics to determine the performance.

· ‘CEO for the day’ will be used in rewarding achievements within the project where a member is recognized for efforts and allowed to make speech to others.

Conclusion

The project activities are conducted efficiently if the project team members managed efficiently through developing a project team plan. As summarized in the analysis table, each activity and aspect of the team has to be managed through incorporating necessary strategies.
