Assignment 6 Preparations

1. Read Chapter 6 in the Business Foundations – A Changing World text.

2. View the Chapter 6 Presentation available in the Assignment 6 folder.

3. Review the boxed Enter the World of Business discussion on page 173 of the text. Also visit the Home Depot Website and review the See Our History pages.

4. Review the boxed So You Want to be a Manager discussion on page 194 of the text. Go to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook website and review the Outlook for Management Occupations.

5. Read the See for Yourself Videocase on page 198 and view the Building a Strong and Healthy Business video available in the Assignment 6 folder at the course Blackboard Website. Also visit the JCF Fitness Website and review their Story.

Assignment 6 Requirements

1. Develop written responses for the three Critical Thinking Questions on page 195 of the text regarding Home Depot.

2. Based on your visit to the Bureau of Labor Statistics website in Preparation 4 above, discuss the Outlook for Management Occupations in your desired field of employment. Discuss whether you find this information is encouraging or discouraging, and if has an impact on your interest in a career as a Manager in your field. If Management is not your goal, Search the Handbook for your career occupational goal and discuss the same issues for your field.

3. Develop written responses for the following Check Your Progress question from page 196 in the textbook: CYP 2, 6, and 7.

4. Develop written responses for the Videocase Discussion Questions found on page 198 of the text.
