Milestone Five: the Analyze Phase

Based on the previous milestone, I have diagnosed that the main issue is raising from the

first station which is the breeding house. This station has been generating a lot of process

variability which lead to customer’s dissatisfaction and to an increase in the production expenses.

Since the process capability ratio and index shew us that our breeding house production

process is incapable of meeting our customers’ expectations by the inability of the control limits

to reach the specification limits, we have developed a cause and effect diagram to dig more in the

main issue that is causing this quality problems. The diagram is as follow:

As you can observe, the cause and effect diagram illustrates all the areas that could generate or

contribute in causing quality issues.

ANOVA Test of Equal Variances

Starting with ANOVA test of the equal variances, we can observe that the two inspectors have

the same measurements as shown in the figure bellow:

The Main Effect Plot help us to compare the Measurement based on the number of

babies left. The horizontal line indicates that there is no effect on the mean (averages) of

the measurement based upon babies between the two inspectors as shown below:

The following figure gives as a deep look on the interaction between the infertility

and the inexistence of babies in the some cages. As we can see that the least the number

of babies we have the great existence of fertility we found. This interaction Plot has
