Business Intelligence can help in adding value to almost every business process hence creating a comprehensive view and at the same time empowering teams into analyzing their data to find efficiencies and make daily decisions. This concept plays a role in the strategic planning of organizations. It is used in various areas like, for instance, measuring the performance progress towards business goals and objectives, performing quantitative analysis, identifying customer insights as well as reporting and data sharing (Richards et al.,2019). Business Intelligence is also essential for increasing employee productivity and ensuring that your business is protected from the online threats that can disrupt the whole business process. When working on decision-making and reporting, various tools can be used in the process. Such tools include SWOT analysis, decision matrix, marginal analysis, which focuses on weighing the benefits of an activity against the costs. Managers may decide to have the Business Intelligence delivered in dashboards to enable them to monitor and measure the performance and metrics. They also provide real-time centralized access to users hence allowing them to interact with others and at the same time evaluate information (Mariani et al.,2018). Business Intelligence is vital for businesses as it helps them make informed decisions on very strategic issues. This can be through providing important information on the current and other performances that involve the company. Some of the significant trends currently being experienced as far as artificial intelligence is concerned include more significant cloud and AI collaboration. This trend will help companies monitor and manage cloud resources and a large amount of the available data. Other trends include AI ethics, talents, voice, and language-driven intelligence (Haner & Garcia, 2019). All these trends are significant and make sure that everything in the business world is working as planned.

Business Intelligence refers to the combination of business analytics, data mining, visualization, data tools, infrastructure, and the best practices in helping organizations make concrete data-driven decisions. An organization can tell if it has modern business intelligence if it exhibits a comprehensive view of data in the organization and uses data to drive changes in the organization (Caseiro & Coelho, 2019). BI helps organizations eliminate business inefficiencies and quickly adapt to market changes, consumer demands, and supply changes. More so, business analysts can leverage BI to provide benchmarks on performance from competitors to help in smooth and efficient operation within organizations.
Lowe's is one of the largest home improvement store chains in America. In 2007, Lowe's company resolved on building a new data center in Texas. The data center was intended to expand on its BI capabilities. Lowe's is a retail chain that uses BI in optimizing its supply chain efficiency. This has helped the company to reduce fraudulent issues in the stores. There are various BI tolls used in reporting and decision-making. Some of these tools include but are not limited to enterprise reporting, dashboards, self-service BI online analytics processing, cloud BI, and predictive analytics (Caseiro & Coelho, 2019). In most companies, managers and senior leaders demand to have their BI delivered as a set of dashboards because dashboards help business users make better and informed decisions. More so, dashboards let managers and senior leaders gather, consolidate and analyze their data and visualize it in the right way. Dashboards also simplify the complex data hence helps the organization to avoid missing out on significant trends and patterns.
Currently, the adoption of AI and the use of robots has grown significantly due to the pandemic. Organizations are automating their daily operations because of the pandemic. There is greater cloud and AI collaboration, AIOps has become popular, and voice and language-driven intelligence are among other trends. Many major companies have embedded AI into their Information systems which provides a greater analogy on existing market trends. AI is not specific to one sector it is applicable to every system to generate an efficient and effective way of implementing things. Quoting AI as the future is non-elaborative.
