Briefing the senior executives is a very important and effective process for many departments of a company. A challenge which could make or block support and buy-in from those in charge.
The framework and Gap reports could be a confusing and technical briefing. In my experience Describing the who, what, when where and why are the fundamentals. Forbes.com provides some key points to presenting to the senior executives. How quickly can the project be completed, what can the executives do to help, what will happen if they do nothing, what are the competitors doing, and providing professional input (Balani, 2018). Presenting a reasonable timeframe, the faster the better could help with the buy-in needed. The executives have extensive knowledge, even if it is not technical, they can provide valuable assistance to a successful plan. A real-world example should be introduced to show the risk if no action is taken. Often the competition can provide valuable insight to trends or threats not previously observed. Finally, the addition of our professional opinions could provide the balance of technical overload and a discussion easier to understand and relate to.
