JUST 351-41_SU18 MOVIE ASSIGNMENTS
GENERAL DIRECTIONS FOR FEATURE FILM ASSIGNMENTS
For your convenience I have included the movie title, year of release, cast and crew information. Please refer to this when writing your discussion board or paper assignment. Note that you are to name the character with the name of the actor in parenthesis the first time you mention him or her in your submission. Thereafter, use only last name. Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger), thereafter Vale never Vicki. Take notes as you watch the movie so that you recall and can include specific references in your submission. Note we have watched these movies at least six times and have reviewed and filed all online sources which discuss it. Do not prepare a plot summary. That is not the assignment. Read what is requested of you. PLEASE NOTE: If your inclination, for expediency sake, is to not watch the movie, but rely on Wikipedia or plot summaries, this will cause you to lose all or the majority of points. Do not use Wikipedia ever as a source. Automatic zero for the assignment. Look at film journals, law journals and reviews for general information on the movie. These assignments require you to:
(1) view the movie (2) take notes on issues and plot (3) consult your textbook (4) research the information (5) comply with the word count (6) CHECK how to do an in text citation and references in APA format. Do not rely on your memory. This is mechanical and requires you to look it up. Please know that online sources are not correct. (7) proofread and edit your submission. (8) comply with the deadline. Do not log on last minute because “traffic” (too many logging on at the same time) will block you out. (9) if attaching a file, please make sure you have sent the correct one. We will download your submission, if it is wrong file you will not be given opportunity to send a second file (10) please submit the file as requested. Please do not send PDF if we are requesting word DOC.
Please enter page numbers whenever appropriate (No for DB, yes for assignment) On the first page place your last name and page number. We do not require any other information such as course number, assignment name, date, names of instructors etc. Those four lines are filler. Please avoid it at all costs. Times New Roman 12 point, double space. These are not opinion papers but assignments that must rely on research. Include all of your sources. You receive the information from somewhere, please include your source. If you do not, it is plagiarism.
