I had always believed that communication was a bit ineffective and this was confirmed in the assessment.

What do the results of the Assessment suggest about the health and civility of your workplace?

The results of the Clark Healthy Workplace Inventory indicates that my workplace has low health and civility as the score was 60 points, which is a mildly health environment.

Explain how the theory or concept presented in the article(s) relates to the results of your Work Environment Assessment.

One of the concepts described in literature is cognitive rehearsal, which is a process that comprises three actions. Cognitive rehearsal entails didactic and interactive learning and training, practicing certain phrases to apply in case of uncivil events, as well as repeating the responses to prepare to address incivility (Longo, 2017). The technique is related to the assessment results because it can used to address the factors that have contributed to high incivility in my workplace.

Explain how your organization could apply the theory highlighted in your selected article(s) to improve organizational health and/or create stronger work teams. Be specific and provide examples.

My organization should teach new nurses about cognitive rehearsal during orientation. Regular training sessions should also be provided to all the other nurses. Nurses that receive cognitive rehearsal training are prepared to address uncivil situations in a professional and non-retaliatory manner. Therefore, the concept will enhance communication and collaboration among nurses while protecting the nurses and patients wellbeing (Longo, 2017). For instance, cognitive rehearsal will equip new nurses with the appropriate responses to use when experienced nurses bully them. The rehearsed responses will enable the new nurses to recognize bullying and initiate communication with the bully to prevent similar events in the future.

General Notes/Comments

The assessment was important in recognizing the incivility levels in my workplace and learning how to enhance the environment using evidence-based techniques.
