II. Interest in becoming a nurse practitioner or nurse educator
a. a. Explain why you chose your specific concentration. – I chose the nurse practitioner program because this has been a long-term goal of mine since I graduated the AND program. I really enjoyed learning about pathophysiology, disease process, and understanding why the body works the way it does, and how to get it to function properly. I also loved learning about pharmacology and I thoroughly enjoyed learning about drug’s mechanism of action way before I really needed to know it. I always studied pharmacology in-depth. I didn’t ever want to memorize. I wanted to know the why’s and the how’s and I am very passionate about it. I also love the patient experience. To be able to help someone who comes to you with no answer, find a way to mitigate an ailment that has been plaguing them and leave relieved.
b. b. Include any particular experiences, if applicable.

Additionally, I have researched a few websites that you can pay to get a preceptor. Lastly, my brother n law is an emergency room physician who I have the opportunity to precept with.

time to manage school demands (~25+ hours/week), work, and home life?
