Assignment 3
1, one page.
Deadlocks: What are the conditions necessary for a deadlock condition within an operating system? What are the preventative measures?
Give us a real-world sample of a deadlock condition. It does not have to be an operating system type deadlock but can be anything. For instance, is there a situation where automobiles in traffic might form a deadlock condition where nobody can move? Think of a real-world sample of your own where a deadlock situation occurs and then tell us how it could be avoided.
2, two pages.
Submit an ORIGINAL 2-page "Summary of a Journal Article" on a relevant topic of your choice on Operating Systems.
For example: "According to Smith the use of queues for dispatching operating system processes was first developed in the 1960s, however other sources suggest the practice was begun in the 50's....". [This is a just a sample of a review of a juried document]
