I need 100 words respond for each discussion forum. It either you agree with the writer or you disagree

1 In this week's discussion, when asked, would I have done the same thing Mr. Wigand did. I must honestly say I do not know; not many of us what we will do until we are faced with a situation that demands that we either keep our mouths shut and pretend not to see what is going on or speak up for what is right. Let's find out precisely what are whistleblowers. Its' said that a whistleblower is "An employee who discloses information that s/he reasonably believes is evidence of illegality, gross waste or fraud, mismanagement, abuse of power, general wrongdoing, or a substantial and specific danger to public health and safety" (Accountability Project 2020). As human beings, we are accountable for the things we see, say, and do.

In 1883 when police officers walked beats and used their whistles to alert citizens and other police officers about a riot, they were called whistleblowers. But it changed in 1963 when this became a hyphenated word, used by journalists and other people involving people who revealed wrongdoings going on. In our society today, anyone can be a whistleblower; for instance, people in prison are called snitches or whistleblowers. Have you ever asked yourself what makes a person turn into a whistleblower better yet what would turn you into a whistleblower?

Many people work in places where they see a lot of wrongdoing goes on, but too afraid to speak up in fear of losing their job or how other people will treat him or her and their loved ones after they are founded out. It's a known fact we need whistleblowers out here other wises we the people would never know just how much wrongdoing is going on in our government, school, hospital, and many more places. I do believe in deciding to become a whistleblower; I would have to ask myself a couple of questions like who is this hurting, what's involved, how would this affect me and my family personal life, how would this affect my way of providing a living for my family because we all know that once you are label as a whistleblower life will change for you and your family from that moment forward

2  Whistle Blower-An Ethical Dilemma

If we had to glance at the two choices Wigand had. It was a case of speaking up or staying quiet. I will say that coming up is the best thing to do, as there are lives at risk. Based on the facts, he made the world aware of the toxic existence of nicotine. He made it very plain that the organization was covering exculpatory details of litigation filed by ill or dead smokers. He also received details about how cancer was induced by the taste enhancer.

Its' said that a whistleblower is "An employee who discloses information that s/he reasonably believes is evidence of illegality, gross waste or fraud, mismanagement, abuse of power, general wrongdoing, or a substantial and specific danger to public health and safety" (Government Accountability Project, n.d.).The only question is what joy has this whistle blowing act achieved? In my view, the only joy gained was that the public is already conscious of the facts regarding the effects of smoke. There is no scientific definition of satisfaction. This is my opinion that the prevalence of smoking in earlier years has been viewed as a norm. Nobody understood the real consequences of it. I assume that the joy gained by Wigand is because the people has a reaction to the ailments induced by smoke. They were offered a preference as to whether or not they should smoke in the future. The satisfaction for Wigand himself would have been that his conscience would be clear, and he'd be able to relax at night realizing the truth was said.

The act of Wigand speaking to the media is what I would claim to be a human of innumerable honorable attributes. It shows, in my mind, a tremendous deal of bravery to go behind the back of his organization and do what he has done. He not only did this, but he displayed an enormous amount of dignity in his sincerity. His gesture was selfless, because it had untold repercussions. At the moment he'd lost something. He had to adjust his life and never got a senior management position. He had to waste much of his life looking over his shoulders, with a huge presence of security detail. He'd sacrificed everything to say the facts to the press. What he suffered is an indication of the effect it had on him. The only fault you might claim is that he's been disloyal to the business. Nevertheless, he will have a free conscience realizing that the fact has been made known.
