Importance of Immigration in Chicago Economy

Nowadays when you hear the word immigration what comes to you mind? Most people think of illegal entry, but forgetting on how immigration has been a major boost on the Chicago economy. The state has not instigated restricting laws that do not limit the immigrants from gaining access especially through the borders. The primary reason why most of the immigrants are attracted by Chicago is because of the different opportunities that they will secure once in the state. It is one of the few states which have positively embraced the diversity thus most people manage to relocate since they will not be affected by factors like racism (Abramitzky, 131). Therefore, an excellent immigration environment has been created where the people have been positively accepted in the community. The state of Illinois and Chicago host millions of immigrants who play a pivotal role in providing entrepreneurial solutions in the city committed to repairing and situating the American economy.

It is a controversial topic especially on those parties against immigration. However, it has positively impacted the economy and pushed it towards improvement. The first advantage of immigration on the economy is the providence of cheap labor in the market. Most of the immigrants have significant skills and expertise learned from their host countries. Most of the businesses prefer to employ the immigrants into the organization because they will accept the cheap labor for their work. The state experiences a 19% increase of immigrants annually searching for excellent opportunities (Parallal 131). Businesses will witness a huge improvement in their economic stability by reducing the finances allocated for salary and wages. the funding will be incorporated into other potential business ideas for more profits.

Additionally, immigration is significant because the individuals will contribute to the business world. The immigrants will have excellent business ideas which would help them establish businesses in Chicago. Immigrants have been given full power to explore their entrepreneurial talents and experience a significant growth. Additionally, the government will offer incentives to such small businesses that have been started because of the significant growth through provision of taxes and revenues (Guadagno, 125). An immigrant with a business in Chicago is termed as daring because they have chased for their dreams even in a foreign state. The economy will be benefited from such an individual because of their immense efforts to attain global recognition. Results from the immigrant business are vast because they have channeled and incorporated more efforts compared to the native citizens. additionally, young immigrants have excellent innovative powers and will ensure that they expound on the unique potential pushing them towards establishing excellent results. Most Chicago businesses will be challenged into getting into health competitions with the immigrant companies hence the economy is bound to stabilize because each individual is focused on attaining the top chart. Having a healthy competition means that they will be pushed out of their comfort zones to making positive economic change.

Most immigrants have well established skills which will facilitate in life development. Most come from those states where they have received significant education especially on menial jobs. Through such skills, the economy will, be benefited because of the significant benefits generated from their efforts. Such workers can handle huge tasks compared to Chicago citizens. Most job vacancies in Chicago have been left blank because the management has not found suitable workers with the needed skills. Therefore, immigrants have been depended on to cause positive changes (Parallal 130). The economy strives to lure those active and working young people because of their undying contribution. Indulging in different types of work will ensure that they duly pay their taxes and revenues to the government. Additionally, the government has increased the tax levels meaning that the immigrants have been included in paying more taxes because of the job opportunities. The Chicago banks can attest that immigrants have been among the many people who have opened their accounts and majored in investments. They have not been limited to a concept thus Chicago grows economically since the immigrants are allowed to explore and develop their passion.

Some of the benefits will be directly absorbed into the government revenues. For instance, as much as they are paying taxes, they are not liable to pension and other benefits which are automatically absorbed into the government revenues. Chicago has a huge aging population which has negatively impacted the economy. Few people are dependent on working and boosting the given economy (West 427). However, immigration has helped in salvaging the situation through bringing in young and energetic populations which has ensured that they have worked and restored the state’s economic stability. The immigrants have ensured that they have leveled labor and the present population. Sometimes they have faced a huge demand and a low workforce thus has been faced by economic inflation.

The government should be included to ensure that they have developed significant policies which favor immigrations. They have to be given significant freedom in Chicago to ensure that they contribute and use their talents for a greater good. The immigrants should be guided within their businesses and helped in gaining international popularity. They must not be discriminated because they have no original citizenship (Wright 135). Therefore, when given chances, the immigrants have a huge impact in making significant changes within the state. Limitation should be eradicated to ensure that they receive significant economic improvements that would help the organization stand through different seasons.
