Class,
When I manage a project, I mainly focus on having a good work life balance, things are going to happen that are unavoidable. The solution that I have found works is to just be there. Especially as an NCO when you take care of your soldiers then they will take care of you. With that in mind then I will focus on making sure that even though the people need to be taken care of, the project needs to be completed as well. SO having the best of both worlds in this situation will be best. Doing all of this while following the main points of creating clear and concise project goals, manage your risks, establish a performance baseline, establish, and maintain healthy communication, and clearly define team responsibilities.

Hello Class,
There is much that goes into the management of a project and thus it is important to build a solid repertoire of values and principles to be utilized in achieving a successful execution of a project. According to Brown (2022), some critical values for a project manager to hold are leadership skills, credibility, strong communication, being culturally aware, and problem-solving capabilities. Emphasizing these values as a project manager will help an individual develop the ability to successfully execute projects. For myself, some of the values I hold in high esteem are those of communication and credibility. Communication is critical for executing a project and must be ensured across all segments of the project if success is to be achieved. This entails maintaining open and frequent dialogue with all involved with the project to ensure that everyone remains on the same page and all concerns are able to be addressed in a timely and efficient manner. I also believe that credibility is crucial for a project manager. The execution of a project can be intricate and being an individual who understandings the intricacies of what is the desired outcome as well as the path to achieving it will allow the team to rally behind the project manager and trust that they will lead them to success.

Hello Professor Gentry,
One definition of ethics describes them as the principles that influence decisions. One should act ethically in all aspects of life and one’s chosen profession. As it pertains to managing one or more projects, doing so with an ethical foundation should be intuitively obvious. Principles such as honesty and integrity, leveraged professionally, positively increases the reputation of the individual, the organization, and the profession. For example, if in the course of managing a project, one takes short cuts, provides estimations of time, cost, or scope that are predominantly guesswork, or conducts oneself in an unethical manner, the project will likely not succeed and the reputation of the individual and their organization will be negatively impacted. Time will be lost; money will be lost.
