INTRODUCTION (300 words) – (30 points) - The background of the experiment is clearly explained. - The relevant literature is reviewed and synthesize (including the citations of relevant scientific papers). - The need for the research (including problem identification) and its relevance are clearly explained. - A paragraph with background information of the sensory analysis used for the experiment should be included at the end of the introduction.

OBJECTIVE (40 words) - (5 points) - The overall aim of the experiment is clearly stated. The objective should be relevant and achievable.

MATERIALS AND METHODS (300 words) – (20 points) - All the materials used in the experiment should be clearly described (including the ingredients of the materials). - The sensory methodology should be clearly explained including the “step-by-step” procedures in conducting the test. - Methods used for data analysis are clearly explained.

RESULTS (150 words) – (15 points) - Results are presented in a clear and concise manner. - Graph, figures, tables and/or statements including statistical testing (if applicable) are clear.

DISCUSSION (150 words) - (15 points) - The findings are clearly discussed and significant findings are emphasized. - How findings relate to previous knowledge and what further research is required should be stated

CONCLUSIONS (60 words) – (10 points) - The conclusion statements should help the readers understand why the research is important. Some recommendations of future studies can be included.

REFERENCES (max. 10 references) – (5 points) - In-text citations and reference list are consistent, accurate, and complete. - Use APA guidelines for the references (Guidelines can be found in the LAB 1 folder)
