Canvas is set up in one way, by the course number as defined by the registrar's office.

When you enroll in a course, graduate or undergraduate, here at Lasell your name is put in under that course.  Your final grade is posted under that course.  If I have a video, some URL, or something I used in a previous class, I have to go find it and insert it under that course number.  ie, I use the Amazon.com warehouse video in almost all of my courses.  Use it in Supply Chain Management, in Operations Management, both undergrad and grad.  Still have to post it there.

Now it is not to say that there is cross referencing from one set of data to another set of data.  Graduate student advising has historically been done by graduate school faculty.  Now they are moving to professional advising.  But when I did it, I could go to the advising website and put down my list of students and see what courses they are taking, what courses they have completed.

You can do the same thing and go and see what you took, and are taking now.

All of these features are in one data base, the registrar's listing of all of what a student has done and is doing now.

Now it is your turn.  Above are two examples:  what I have to do with the registrar's data base of my courses to move stuff around.  Plus there is some sort of data base that different individuals can access to look at the same data base from their point of view.

So please add your experience and knowledge to the class to tell how you use data bases.
