My personal core values reflect being truthful, having integrity, and being empathetic. Within the last few weeks, I have reflected on these core values within my current profession. Every day, I am looked for to reflect on being truthful with my staff and parents of the children I observe. This at times can be difficult due to staff not agreeing with their own personal performance standards as well as parents not accepting symptoms of diagnosis that their child may be expressing such as autism. These everyday situations bleed into having integrity because if I am not honest and confident within myself in the work that I do, my delivery of these conversations will reflect that. Being empathetic is a quality I love to embrace because anyone can have sympathy, but those who portray empathy show and understand compassion towards others, which reflects a huge difference. Expressing empathy is something that can be challenging due to circumstances that can cause frustration such as having a parent or staff member who follows through on recommendations to help support a child and lead him to success for the future, but regardless, I try and express empathy as sometimes it might be hard for them in that position to facilitate those steps.

My organization's policies reflect the mission of our program which is to empower people with the skills to become self-sufficient and enhance their lives through education, training, life-skills, and support services. Many different departments are responsible for delivering this mission to families and educators across various counties. Individuals within these departments do not always reflect these principles throughout our organization and to our families. How these individuals portray their own ideas of the organization's values and policies leads to destructive leadership, followers of that same behavior, and an inconsistent environment. I believe the disconnect strays from seasoned veteran workers clashing with workers that stemmed from the covid 19 era. Transformational leadership does not typically get spread around evenly leading to a lot of discourse and unsolved problems in my organization. "Educational institutions do not seem to be able to return to normal as before the COVID-19 outbreak. Various schools in cities use two main learning methods: offline and online. Studies showed that the effectiveness of post-pandemic institutions has not reached optimal points which mean there are still many obstacles in the field to match the level of effectiveness as before the pandemic" (Komariyah, 2022).
