Reading Reflection Instructions
Our discussions will arise from actively engaging the authors’ views in assigned texts, so your preparation for class is critical. “Reading Reflection Posts” are used for Day #2 of each module to encourage you not only to be informed about the case or current event, but also to form opinions, evaluate others’ ideas, and defend your own.
· Before Day #2 of each module, identify the assigned readings listed in the Daily Planner (pg 8-12 of this Syllabus).
· After completing the readings, post at least two Reading Reflections and submit it on the Canvas Discussion Forum titled for the relevant Class #. (You’ll be able to see your classmates’ posts after you have submitted your own post.)
Examples of Reading Reflections:
1. “Help me understand” – Identify anything in the reading that was confusing or unclear. Example: What did the author mean by _________?
3. “Food for thought” – Anything thought provoking that came up for you. Example: How does this concept relate to something we have discussed before? Or to another course?
4. “A question for my classmates” – Curiosity about your classmates’ opinions on something you read. Examples: I think I disagree with the author about _____. What did y’all think about _____?
Post your Reading Reflections on Canvas by 12pm of the relevant class day.
All Reading Reflection Posts submitted on time are read by the Instructor and will count toward your grade for “Individual Participation and Contribution Group Activities” based on depth of insight and evidence of reading preparedness.
