Back in the early days of computer sciences, IBM came out with a wonderful new tool.  It was called PROFS.  It was the 1st email application.  At that time, I was the world wide purchasing manager for systems and telecommunications for Polaroid.  PROFS made the acquisition of goods and services for our world wide operations so much easier.  We actually saved weeks from the time a requisition was approved to ordering the items to receiving the items. One major drawback, it only worked IBM mainframe to IBM mainframe.
