3.4 Assignment. Organizational Change Initiative

Getting Started

Hello I am Change Agent Disruptor Name Tag WordsExperts agree that leading organizational change is a vital skill for leaders. In Workshop Six, you will have the opportunity to apply what you have learned about organizational change theory to an organization of your choice. Even though the project is due in Workshop Six, you will want to start working on the project early to get the best use of time from the remaining workshops.

To help facilitate this process, you will select your organization here in Workshop Three. Think about what organization in which you would like to initiate change. The organization does not have to be your current organization. It can be real or fictitious (e.g., ABC Business Solutions, XY University, etc.).

Also, consider what role would allow you to implement the change (e.g., Assistant HR Director, VP of Strategy, Assistant Operations).

When considering change initiatives, you might reflect back on your previous course in LDR410 where you worked on strategic planning or think of a new change initiative (e.g., implement new performance review process, lead relocation efforts for Company ABC, implement new systems software, start a formal mentoring program).

The goal of this assignment is for you to start thinking about the final project and get feedback on your selected organization, role, and initiative.

Upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be able to:

· Apply innovative approach to real-life organization to foster practical learning.
