Personal Statement for Ohio State University
I have recently graduated from Shawnee State University with a Bachelor of Arts in international relations and a minor in economics. I have been among the most famous students since I was the vice president of the student organization. I have exercised my decision-making skills, which enabled me to generate local student interest in the Model Arabic league. It is a United States program where students learn the Arab's history and politics, the art of diplomacy, and public speaking. The program helped so many students to in becoming better and civic citizens and acquire knowledge about affairs. It also created a collaborative and inclusive learning environment for students.
The program gave us a lot of exposure to the middle east and Arab world. It also enhanced our leadership skills and public speaking and writing skills. We were privileged to be presented at the most successful regional conference for our team. The opportunity laid the foundation of our exposure within the community and local high schools with the Model Arab League conferences. At this point, we were able to attend many programs within and outside our region.
I believe in the power of social justice. Justice is fairness in societal aspects such as employment, healthcare, and housing. As the vice president of the student organization. As the vice president, it was my responsibility to assist the President in overseeing all the organization's activities, which sharpened my monitoring and evaluation skills. I practiced my leadership skills since I worked with the treasurer to develop effective annual budgets and present them to the board of directors to approve. I was at the forefront of promoting the efficient use of resources. The budgets were prepared in a democratic way since the process of decision-making involved every student. Democracy promoted equitable and culturally responsive from different students. Public speaking was part of my duty to address issues and supervise the meetings in the absence of the president.
I aspire to careers that will allow me to work with society to bring change through civic engagement, public communication, and political careers. Majoring in legislative analysis will help me reach my dream of becoming a better leader in the future. A leader that will ensure the implementation of efficient policies that will improve the lives of the people in the society and promote social justice.
I believe I am a qualified student to be admitted since I have basic knowledge of policy and politics. I have worked with various organizations to sharpen my leadership skills. It will be a great honor to be granted a chance to polish my skills by having a course in public affairs. The course will help me acquire new skills such as advocacy required in thriving through my future career.
