This week, the 2nd draft Informal Outline of Paper #2 is due, and I want you to re-work your 1st draft Informal Outline and make it better in order for me to review and edit. As you should know, this paper in about 2-3 weeks will eventually become a formal writing assignment of 5-7 full pages, but for this week I only want to see a new and improved version of your 1st draft. Simply put, you will prepare only a new and improved, well-planned 2-page maximum Informal Outline and include a Works Cited page--please do not write a full paper yet for this assignment.

Most of you have been following instructions--thank you!! However, some of you are still very confused about this assignment. You are to do a film analysis of your selected film, and you are to prove exactly how this film "feeds the mind." This is going to require watching your film very likely 2- 3 times, and researching a considerable amount of information on the deeper aspects of the film--the themes, the character development, the symbols, and the setting. If there other cinematic items you wish to discuss that will prove this film "feeds the mind," ask me about it before you pursue more researchable documentation about them.

Please remember that this paper is a film analysis assignment--it is not permitted that your 2nd draft Informal Outline be about solely your personal observations, your opinion regarding the entire plot, anything where biographical information regarding the performers and the director is emphasized, and anything regarding the awards the film earned is mentioned. This is a strict and very serious paper about how the film "feeds the mind."

Since your 1st draft was peer edited and reviewed by 2 of your fellow classmates (or the Writing Center), this 2nd draft will be my opportunity to directly help you with your assignment. I will edit, make suggestions and comments, and give you mostly positive instructional advice on how to make this paper better. To receive credit, you must turn in your 2nd draft outline (2 pages max.) on time, and you must follow the expected MLA format rules (double space, Times New Roman, 12 point, Align Left, Full heading on the left side of page 1 only, header on the top right side of every page, and a Works Cited page).

Please send your 2nd drafts via pdf. Perhaps this will avoid so many problems with complying with the MLA Format requirements.

I will review them over the weekend and give you both general comments as well as a writing rubric to guide you in preparation for the Final Draft due next week. One last reminder--please send this only to Canvas by the assigned due date.

You have a few days to do this assignment, so please do write and turn in your outline early, and kindly be patient for I will have very likely close to 40 papers to review over the weekend. Please do
