The manager's role in Java Been is to ensure that all the business plans to other geographical areas are achievable. Decision making is one of the fundamental roles of the manager. Through the application of various decision-making tools helps the manager to determine the output of a given process. It is done by having all the plans in place and communicating the same to the employees to work together to achieve the objective. Marginal analysis is one of the decision-making tools to weigh the benefit of input against the costs. It depicts whether a given input provides a maximum return on investment. Also, the SWOT diagram as a decision-making tool, involves breaking down the strengths, weakness, opportunities, and threats as a decision-making tool. So, the manager will communicate the plans to employees and their roles in making plans to succeed. The manager is also expected to have the emotional intelligence to understand how others feel and thus offer the necessary assistance they need, making the employees comfortable. As a result, therefore, they will be in a position to deliver their duties effectively (TL, 2020).
When planning how to expand the enterprise, decisions are made, and the manager is expected to make the decisions. Therefore, when making the decisions, it is ideal for the manager to consult widely so that by the time he will make decisions, he will make informed decisions. In addition to consulting widely, the managers should ask for the opinions of employees and other stakeholders since their contributions might help the manager to make sound decisions. When making the decisions, the manager should not rush and thus, when he feels that he has enough information regarding the decision to be made, he will make the decisions that do not result in mistakes being made.
For effective performance in an organization, the formation of teams enables the employees to work together towards achieving the same goals. But some challenges are faced during team development, including conflicts, lack of diverse skills and interest, poor communication, and poor work environment. Solving these challenges greatly takes time as differences among employees breeds confusion on what decisions to make. Also, there could be a misunderstanding between the new and emerging teams as each of them has their own culture of doing things, hence creating difficulty in following the time schedules for other tasks. Therefore, the manager should form teams and come up with a way of addressing the challenges that might be experienced when the teams are working together. However, having diverse team members is important because their differences indicate that they have varying abilities. Hence, when these abilities are utilized, the team can achieve its objectives easily. Therefore, the manager should ensure that the team members should be willing to work together when forming a team because the team members do not cooperate. It will be difficult for the organization to achieve its objectives.
There are team development models that inform management approaches in the initiation of the team and through projects. The Tuckman team model of Group Development gives the four stages that the team might progress through, which includes forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning (Team, 2013). The stages appear gradually from producing, and each of them has communication as a critical component for moving successfully to the next stage. Moreover, there are communication strategies that reduce common barriers to collaboration in diverse teams. The strategies include focusing on the problem but not the person, using affirmative responses and being flexible. All the team development models, leadership models, and communication strategies influence the performance of an organization.
