Revise one of your Writing 27 papers into an essay (1,000-1,500 words) representing a thoughtful response to some kind of text (the text is comprised by the content in your works cited). The essay must provide readers with necessary contextual information so that any ELWR reader can understand the content of your essay without additional explanation. The essay must move beyond summary/restatement to thoughtful analysis or purpose of some kind which is stated in the “findings” of a thesis statement. The essay offers sufficient, well-chosen examples and demonstrates sensible reasoning, all related to the thesis. The thesis provides an overview of evidence as to why the examples support the thesis. The essay demonstrates an ability to use multiple, effective sentence structures. It reflects a solid understanding of the conventions of written English. The essay is in MLA format and cites all texts and ideas properly.
